 CCleaner is one of the most useful programs for both technical and non technical users.

CCleaner (formerly Crap Cleaner) is a freeware utility used to optimize a user's computer and clean one's registry. It is developed by Piriform and is designed for Microsoft Windows. CCleaner is available in 35 different languages, with more planned to be added.

CCleaner allows the user to remove unused temporary files from Internet browsers and other supported applications along with browsing history, cookies, and AutoComplete form history. It allows for the cleaning of the recycle bin, memory dumps, file fragments, log files, system caches, application data, and various other data. The program also includes a Registry Cleaner to locate and correct problems in the Windows Registry such as missing shared DLLs, unused file extensions and application paths.

CCleaner supports the cleaning of temporary and unneeded files from certain programs, including Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome, Foxit Reader, Microsoft Office (2000, XP, 2003, 2007), Nero Burning ROM, Java, Windows Live Messenger, ZoneAlarm, Flash Player, QuickTime, VirtualDub, Windows Media Player, 7-Zip, Avira AntiVir, Spybot - Search & Destroy, Windows Registry Editor, eMule, KaZaA, Google Toolbar, Netscape, Adobe Acrobat, WinRAR, WinAce, WinZip, and many more.

CCleaner assists in the uninstallation process by allowing users to uninstall programs from CCleaner itself. In addition, CCleaner also allows the alteration of start-up programs, similar to the Microsoft Windows MSConfig Utility. Users can disable several start-up programs to free up processor speed at start-up.

 Installing for CCleaner is very simple. Download to your desktop and then double click the icon. Clcik ok and then follow the instruction installing to the defult location uless a different location is needed

 (Make sure each of the boxes below are slected and press install)

After you load the program press "Run Cleaner". This will then scan your PC for files to be removed.

 When you get this message i would select the tick box that says Do not show me this... and then click OK

 A log file will now be produced to then show what has been deleated.

Registry Cleaning 

 To use the registry scan use the program as show above for loading and then on the side click on Registry (the blue building block icon)

Click on Scan for issues. This will then search the registry for problmes and will show what the program will fix. Then select fix selected 

Click yes to backing up the registry and save it to the default location. Then on the next screen click fix all selected issues.
