First Aid for you PC

You computers not sound with no sound

All throughout lives there are those moment when you just need piece and quite when you wished things would shut up like the rustling people in the cinema or next doors barking dog at 3AM. But when we come to Windows and we need sound more than not there won’t be. So lets look at why

1

Check to make sure your PC is not muted. There are 2 ways to do this.

A Using the speaker icon on the toolbar double click and make sure Mute is not ticked and also make sure the slider is at least halfway up

A click on the small speaker icon shown in the toolbar above next to the time. Then when the new window opens lick on "Mixer". This will then open up the Volume Mixer . Make sure in mixer Speakers does not have a red no entry sign through it. If it does click the speaker is on under the slider and this will un mute the speaker
B The next way would be through the control pannel

Here again make sure the speaker slider is again at least halfway to the right

2

Make sure now that the speakers are plugged into the correct input and that the speakers have power. They will be plugged into the green input unless you have surround sound in which it will be plugged into a variatey.

Here is the green cable from the speaker (the pink one being from a microphone)

As you can see here plug the green cable into the green input
